Advanced is the foundation for every HSC maths pathway. If you're sitting Advanced on its own or using it as a base for Extension, we go through the full syllabus with an exam focus throughout.

Year 11 and 12

Mathematics Extension 1

The step up from Advanced is real. The content is harder and the pace picks up, but with the right practice and a tutor who can explain it properly, E4 is very doable.

Combinatorics and permutations
Vectors in 2D
Trigonometric identities and equations
Further calculus (rates, inverse trig)
The binomial theorem
Differential equations

Mathematics Extension 2

The hardest maths course in the HSC. It needs deep understanding and genuine problem-solving ability. But it's also where the biggest ATAR gains are.
